Moviiu is the new online platform for shipping art and valuables. With our extensive experience in art transportation, we have developed a smart tool that allows artworks and valuable objects to be shipped fast, safe & secure, and all at competitive rates.

Who can use the art transportation service of Moviiu?

Anyone who wants to ship art or valuables! Our customers include art collectors, artists, galleries, auction houses, museums, and anyone involved in trading art and antiques. Moviiu caters to both private individuals and businesses, whether they are sole proprietors or e-commerce platforms. We are currently based in Germany, France, and Switzerland, from where we can ship affordably worldwide.

What can I ship with Moviiu?

Whether it’s paintings, sculptures, books, or jewelry, Moviiu specializes in the safe and fast transport of art, antiques, design objects, and valuables. Paintings and prints can be transported up to a size of 180 x 147 x 25 cm; objects and sculptures can be a maximum of 104 x 60 x 57 cm in size. For larger dimensions, we can provide you with an individaul quote in collaboration with our various partners

How does Moviiu’s All-Inclusive Transport Solution for Art Work?

Moviiu is simple and straightforward. All we need to quickly calculate a quote are the pickup and delivery addresses, dimensions, and weight of your object. Our offer includes packaging, handling, insurance, and transportation. After payment, we will send you a custom-made packaging containing all shipping labels and, for international shipments, the necessary export certificates. You place your artwork or object in the box, seal it, and the shipment is ready for transport. Then, you choose a pickup time for the shipment via our website or phone, and in 3 to 10 days, the package is ready for delivery. Our Moviiu tracking system keeps you updated on the status of your delivery.

If you require a pickup of unwrapped artwork, for example from an auction house, we can arrange this for a small additional fee. Packaging and shipping will then be organized directly by us.

Is your artwork already packed for transport? That’s fine too! Then you can also quickly get a quote for transportation on our website. In this case, you only need to arrange insurance yourself.

How is my artwork packaged for transportation?

Our packaging is tailored precisely to your artworks and valuables. Together with experts, we have developed a sturdy cardboard packaging made of triple-walled reinforced cardboard and lined with recyclable foam. This ensures optimal protection against shocks and vibrations for your objects and artworks. You place your object in the box and seal the packaging; no additional packaging material is necessary. When will my artwork be delivered?

Delivery times vary depending on the destination country. Typically, our shipments take 7 to 12 working days from door to door.

Who transports my artworks?

Moviiu collaborates with 16 sister companies in art logistics operating in 11 countries on 5 continents, including art carriers such as Knab Art Handling, Chenue, LP Art, Sendsio Natural Le Coultre, Rodolphe Haller SA, Helutrans, Denbigh, Art Quality, or GSS. Courier services, such as DHL Express, UPS, and FedEx, handle a significant portion of our deliveries, ensuring efficient service at low costs.

How is my artwork insured during transport?

At Moviiu, artworks are insured against all types of risks up to a value of €100,000, and jewelry up to a value of €10,000, on the condition that Moviiu packaging is used. Unlike pure courier services, our insurance covers the entire insured value in case of damage or loss. For higher values or particularly fragile objects, we are happy to provide you with an individual quote with the assistance of our sister companies. You can optionally add transport insurance when creating your quote.

How does customs clearance work?

If your object is to be transported to a recipient outside the EU, but you’re unsure about the necessary paperwork, Our shipping partners handle the customs clearance, we collect the necessary documents and coordinate everything to ensure the transport runs smoothly. For certain documents, we can also assist you with the formalities. Any resulting customs duties and taxes are not included in the quote. Our shipping partner will contact you directly to inform you of the amount of duties. Once the import duties are paid, the package will be delivered, and the recipient will be notified of the delivery date.

Who is behind Moviiu?

The Moviiu team is continuously growing and currently operates from Germany, France, and Switzerland:

  • Our CEO, Florian Hervouet, operates from Paris, bringing extensive expertise in optimizing logistics chains and shipping processes, along with a clear vision for Moviiu.
  • In Berlin, Matthias Philipp serves as the Country Manager, overseeing our operations in Germany. With twenty years of experience in the art industry and a background in sales and marketing, he is the primary contact for our German customers.
  • Ilièce Yadel manages our operations from Geneva and serves as the Country Manager for France and Switzerland. He is constantly working on new ideas to improve our shipping solution and serves as the contact person for French-speaking customers.
  • Also based in Geneva is Camille Ribeiro, our Customer Service Manager. She keeps an eye on everything and assists with all questions and shipping-related challenges.
