Shipping art is made easy with Moviiu. In this article, we will guide you through the individual steps from packaging to shipping.

Fast Packaging, Delivery and Shipping Documents

After you confirm and pay for the transport offer from Moviiu, we will deliver a custom-made package directly to your gallery, studio, or home. All necessary shipping labels are already attached to the box, so there is no need to print or include anything else. Any required export documents for international shipping are also attached to the outside of the package to ensure the shipment passes through customs without issues.

Secure Protection through Custom-Made Packaging

Our specially designed shipping box is lined with foam on all sides, protecting your artwork from shocks and vibrations. If you are sending a painting or framed picture, we will include a special paper with the box that you can wrap around the picture first to protect the surface. Then, you only need to place it in the foam indentation. For objects and sculptures, the boxes are lined with air cushion padding to absorb shocks. Our packaging consists of a sturdy, three-ply reinforced cardboard, ideal for shipping delicate artworks and objects. Especially with courier services, packages are often stacked and transferred, so it’s important to use suitable and durable packaging. Our boxes have been extensively tested in practice and optimized for such transport routes.

Easy Sealing – No Additional Material Needed

That’s it! You only need to seal the box. No additional materials are required, as the boxes are equipped with self-adhesive strips on all sides. These steps are also shown in this short video tutorial.

Convenient Pickup with Flexible Scheduling

The package is now ready for shipping. You can easily arrange the pickup through your Moviiu customer account: By clicking on your shipment, you can schedule a pickup appointment via the “Request Pickup” button. Alternatively, our staff can assist you personally. Pickup through our partners DHL, FEDEX, or UPS usually occurs in the afternoon during regular opening or working hours.

Comprehensive Tracking and Fast Delivery

We keep you updated on each step of the delivery via email. You can also conveniently check the shipping status through your Moviiu customer account. Depending on the country, the package will reach the recipient within 3 to 10 business days.

 

What else you need to know

Shipping in Your Own Transport Box

If your artwork or object is already packed in a box, simply enter the dimensions of this packaging into our online tool; we will then provide a shipping box that fits your object along with its existing packaging. If you wish to send a painting, photograph, or framed paper work in your own wooden crate* and do not need packaging from us, you can request a quote for transport only via our website. Please note that in this case, our insurance does not apply, and you will need to purchase separate transport insurance.

Transport of Fragile Art Objects

Moviiu specializes in shipping classic artworks such as paintings, prints, drawings, or photographs up to a size of 180 x 147 x 25 cm, as well as sculptures, antiques, small furniture, jewelry, and watches up to a size of 104 x 60 x 57 cm. Very fragile objects made of glass, porcelain, terracotta, marble, gemstones, or ivory require particularly careful handling – for this, we recommend professional transport with one of our sister companies.

White Glove Collection & Delivery – Our Worry-Free Full-Service Package

At Moviiu, we want to make art transport as easy as possible for you. If you prefer to leave the packing and unpacking of your works to professionals, you can book our White Glove Service as an additional service. Our art handlers will pick up your artwork or object from you, measure it at our warehouse, pack it professionally, and send it directly from there to the recipient. You won’t need to worry about anything else. Of course, we will keep you informed about all steps, and you can track the shipping status and delivery to the recipient in your customer account.
