Moviiu is a 100% digital platform providing logistics services specific to high value items and artworks. Our platform is an integrated solution which allows you to ship items to and from any destination in the world.

Who we are

Moviiu is an affiliate of the world’s biggest art transport group. Our group is comprised of more than 1500 employees on 4 continents. That means we share hundreds of years of experience and the same high standards in terms of service and quality. The group’s oldest companies date back to 1760 and 1859 respectively, which is where our story begins.

How does it work?

Confirming a shipment on Moviiu should be as easy as ordering on Amazon. Our digital platform provides a simple and intuitive customer experience so you can receive a quote in just a few clicks.

This is the information you need to enter to get a quote:

  • Origin and destination address

How do I track my delivery?

You can check the status of your shipment at any time on your customer account using the unique tracking number stating.

Can I request a specific delivery date and/or delivery “by” for my item?

In principle, we use express delivery for your shipment based on the procedure in place with our different affiliates. If you have specific delivery requirements, please contact us before confirming your shipment so we can look at how feasible it is.

How about customs clearance for artwork? How long could my shipment remain in customs?

In the event of cross-border shipments, your delivery may be slowed down by customs procedures. Depending on the value, item type or origin of your item, customs may request further information. If this happens, the speed you provide the requested information is decisive to your delivery.

How to pay VAT and customs fees

Once any taxes and customs fees have been estimated by your local customs office, you will receive an email to inform you how to pay them before delivery.

You might be able to pay customs fees by credit card or bank transfer before delivery. It will depend on the delivery country and local customs.

Insurance

What are the benefits of taking out Moviiu’s fully comprehensive insurance?

You get your own contact to manage your entire shipment, the guarantee of insurance from pick-up to delivery and no excess in the event of damage.

How do I insure my item and what’s the maximum value?

Just select transport insurance when you do your online quote.

For instant quotes, we can insure items worth up to CHF 100’000.- / EUR 100’000. For insurance requests in excess of this amount, please email us on: info@moviiu.com

Can I take out insurance if I use my own packaging?

No, unfortunately not.

Can I request a certificate of insurance?

Where can I find my certificate of insurance?
Where necessary, we can send you a certificate of insurance for transporting your goods. Please email us your request: info@moviiu.com

What’s the difference between “door to door” and “white glove” delivery? What’s included in each one?

We provide different delivery options based on your budget, preferences or destination of your item:

  • “Door to door” delivery: Our team delivers your item to the address provided
  • “White glove” delivery: A team of technicians delivers your item and unpacks it in the location of your choice (easy access and office hours)
  • “White glove +” delivery: A team of technicians delivers, unpacks and installs (picture hanging, assembling items) your item in the location of your choice (easy access and office hours)

Can I book a specific form of transport?

We’re part of a network of 15 companies specialising in artwork and high value goods logistics so we have artwork lorries (padded and air-conditioned vehicles, air suspension, alarm, GPS and satellite tracking, 2 drivers on-board) throughout Europe, Asia, South and North America.

Can you provide storage solutions?

We have over 200,000m2 of storage for artworks and valuable items in 23 sites in 9 countries. Our sites are under 24/7 surveillance, are equipped with cutting-edge security technology and constant climate control to provide the best storage conditions.

Why can’t I get an instant price for my transport request?

There may be several reasons why our digital platform is unable to provide a quote for your shipment:

  • Incomplete information: check you have completed all mandatory fields
  • Invalid address: check you have entered the pick-up and delivery address correctly
  • Unavailable destinations: despite covering the entire planet, there may be specific destinations that our digital platform does not recognise. Please email us on info@moviiu.com so we can provide you with a bespoke quote.
  • Item of non-standard size or weight: our platform is constantly updated to cover as many sizes/weights and item types as possible.

How do I confirm my online quote?

Simply click « Confirm and Pay » at the bottom of the page after checking all the information you’ve provided is correct.

Which measurements should I provide in my quote request?

Please check the measurements entered on our platform to avoid any price changes after payment.

Two scenarios:

  • You have packaging – we only accept wooden crates: please provide your crate’s measurements and weight so our tool can calculate shipping fees
  • You don’t have a wooden crate: please provide the item’s measurements including, for example, the frame for a framed painting

Our platform will select the right packaging based on the information provided (for example, if the measurements provided are smaller than actual size, the packaging may not be appropriate for your item).

Which items can’t I get an instant quote for?

They tend to be items that carriers consider “very fragile” and require special care. This mainly applies to the following items: porcelain, glassware, terracotta, fine wine, marble, jade, ivory and similar goods.

What are the maximum measurements to get an instant quote?

The maximum size for an instant quote is currently: 160 x 160 x 160cm.If you want to ship an item larger than the aforementioned size, please email us at info@moviiu.com

Can I change any information provided after paying and confirming transport?

If any information about a current shipment needs to be changed, you must contact us as soon as possible so we can take action as quickly as possible.

Please note that any change may affect our operating procedure and may result in extra charges.

What is the delivery time for my packaging?

Any order placed by 1pm (UTC +1) is processed and shipped on the same day. This does not apply to bespoke packaging which is shipped within a day of placing your order.

My account

How do I update my personal details (name, address, phone number etc.)?

You can log into your account and update your personal details in your “Profile” anytime on any device.

We strictly adhere to data protection regulations and do not send your information to third parties.

Can I save addresses and/or contacts?

Every address or contact entered on our digital platform is automatically saved to make it simpler and faster for you to request quotes/place orders on our app.

I’ve forgotten my password, what shall I do?

It’s simple, just click on “Forgotten password” and we’ll send you an email to reset it.

How do I manage email notifications about my shipments?

You can manage the frequency and type of notifications you want to receive (or not) on your customer account.

How do I delete my account?

Simply email us and we’ll delete your account and any associated information. Please note that once the information has been deleted, we cannot recover it.

How do I know if my item is properly packed?

Our digital platform uses the weight and measurements you enter to select the right Moviiu packaging with all the equipment you need for the ultimate in protection.

We don’t provide packaging if you already have a wooden shipment crate. So you just have to print off your shipment form and book a courier to pick up your item on your customer account.

Which items and/or measurements require “bespoke” packaging?

Any large, heavy or fragile items require bespoke packaging.

NB: the largest size of our standard packaging is currently 160 x 160 x 160cm pour un poids maximal de XXX.

Can I just order packaging (not transport)?

If you just want to purchase our packaging, please email us on info@moviiu.com

What’s the “home packing” service?

Don’t fancy packing it yourself? We provide one or more packers who come to you to pack and collect your item.

My item already comes with packaging but it’s not a wooden crate – what do I do?

If your item is pre-packed or protected by cardboard or something else, please provide the measurements of the current packaging. It will be placed straight inside the Moviiu packaging.

How do I pay for my transport?

It couldn’t be easier. Once you’ve entered all the information required to get a quote for shipping your item, you need to confirm our quote. You’ll then be directed to our payment page which has several options to pay for your order.

Which payment methods and currency do you use?

We provide different payment methods for your shipment:

  • Card (Visa and Mastercard)
  • Paypal
  • Bank transfer (shipment confirmed on receipt of payment in our bank account – usually in 2-3 days)

We reserve the right not to provide certain payment methods and use alternative payment methods for any order. If you would like an alternative solution, please email us on info@moviiu.com

We propose payment in EURO, CHF, GBP and USD. We are constantly upgrading and given our expanding international presence, we will soon be able to provide new payment currencies.

Is card payment secure?

Any card details are encrypted and not saved.

Credit card payments are processed by Stripe (www.stripe.com), renowned as the most secure online payment company in the world. No matter how you decide to pay, we never have access to your bank details.

Payment issue – what do I do and who do I contact?

Stripe, our provider, may not accept payments from your credit cards. It happens if the system redirects the payment request to your bank so you can identify yourself for security reasons. If communication fails for whatever reason and you are unable to identify yourself, our payment platform cancels the operation for security reasons.

Where do I find my invoice?

You can download your invoice from your customer account as soon as you pay. You can also receive an email copy.

Who do I contact if the invoice is wrong?

In the event of invoice errors, please email us at info@moviiu.com

Can I pay after delivery?

Payment before organisation and transport is essential for one-off customers. Should you require regular services and shipment volume permitting, please email us at info@moviiu.com to find out about our payment solutions.

When is the deadline for cancelling a shipment and getting a refund?

You must email usas soon as possible at info@moviiu.com after confirming and paying for your order to get a full refund.

Two scenarios:

  • If you have packaging (wooden crate): you can cancel your shipment at any time as long as the pick-up for your shipment has not been scheduled
  • If you don’t have packaging: once the order has been confirmed and paid for, our team of technicians is ready to send your packaging as soon as possible (same day or within 24 hrs). ). As long as it hasn’t left our warehouse, you can cancel the shipment and get a full refund.

How do I get a shipping quote?

There are two ways to get a quote with Moviiu:

  • Instant quote via our digital platform for standard-sized items or items worth more than €100,000.
  • Bespoke quote for more complex requests: via a coordinator who will get back to you within a few hours

What’s included in the price?

Any quote on our digital platform includes transport from the pick-up location to the final destination.

The price also includes any extra services you select (insurance, on-site packing, white glove delivery, installation, packaging collection).

Please note that the only thing not included in your quote are customs fees if your item is crossing a border (outside the European Union). Any shipment crossing a border is eligible for VAT in the destination country and any customs fees and taxes.

Once customs have been cleared, customs fees must be paid either before delivery on your customer account or on delivery.

Please note that Moviiu is unable to provide door to door delivery for certain destinations where local legislation only allows DAT delivery (Delivered At Terminal – import customs clearance procedure that can only be conducted through a local agent). The price is therefore amended based on the services involved.

Could your shipping fee change after confirmation and payment?

The quote automatically includes transport from the pick-up location to the final destination and any extra services you select. Moviiu is required to change the quote provided or price paid in the following circumstances:

  • Incorrect measurements, weight or commercial value entered when confirming the quote
  • Incorrect pick-up or delivery address
  • Any alterations made after confirmation or payment will result in changes to the order

Moviiu automatically sends your packaging on receipt of confirmation and payment to ensure fast delivery. That means our customers must provide accurate information to avoid disrupting your shipment and affecting the price.

*Payment of VAT and customs fees is separate to shipment fees .

What happens now? What happens next and what do I have to do?

We have implemented a procedure guaranteeing the best delivery times using our different companies’ expertise, no matter the complexity of transporting high value goods. Here are the key steps of your shipment:

a/ Transport confirmation and payment.

b/ Packaging preparation and shipment: our technicians are informed of your item’s details when the shipment is confirmed so they can prepare your packaging and send it within 24 hrs of your order. You can track its preparation and shipment on your customer account.

c/ It’s your time to shine when you receive your packaging! A tutorial helps you pack your item in the ideal way so it reaches its destination in the best conditions.

d/ Once your item is packed, you just have to log into your account and book a courier to ship it. Depending on the time of booking and your location, our courier can pick up your package on the same day or the next day at the latest. . It’s all automated and takes a matter of clicks.

e/ There you go, now you can track your shipment from any device.

How do I change/update an address, service or contact details after confirming a shipment?

In the event of an error or change, please email us at info@moviiu.com so we can make any updates. Please note that as our procedures are automated to provide you with the best delivery times, some changes may incur extra charges.

Can I choose the day my package is picked up?

You can choose the day your package is delivered and picked up. You can do it all direct from your customer account. With Moviiu, you’re in charge of your shipment.

How do pick-up and delivery work?

Depending on your preferences and budget, one or two technicians or our partner DHL Express take care of pick-up and/or delivery.

What’s your cancellation policy?

As long as the packaging hasn’t been made or your item hasn’t been shipped, you can cancel your shipment and get a full refund.
