PERSONAL INFORMATION

The General Data Protection Regulation compiles legislation established by the European Commission on May 25th 2018 that applies to any company working in Europe. This page details how Moviiu SA collects different types of information about its clients and its data protection and security policy to keep your personal life private.

PROCESSING SUBJECT

Moviiu SA, whose head office is in Switzerland (Geneva), Avenue de Sécheron 6, owns an online retailer. Like all online traders, we collect information about our website users and we work with third party service providers who have access to some of our data. This information is essential to ensuring your order goes smoothly. Any information at this point is saved and processed in a customer file.

This file helps:

– Manage orders, payment and delivery.

When you create a customer account on our website, we save any information required for placing orders on our systems: your email address, full name, postal address, phone number and any information for the third party in charge of shipping and/or delivering your shipment to ensure you have the best possible experience.

These order details are sent to different service providers (mainly carriers and affiliates of Moviiu SA) who strive for the service provided by Moviiu SA to run as smoothly as possible.

– Operate marketing campaigns (loyalty, promotions) and send email ads to our clients who haven’t objected to them or have agreed to them:

  • About products or services similar to previous orders.
  • About the company’s other products or services.

Please note that if you no longer wish to receive these emails, you can unsubscribe at any time by clicking “unsubscribe” at the bottom of the newsletter. It is effective immediately.

– Send the details of any of our clients who have agreed to be contacted by our business partners.

LAWFULNESS OF PROCESSING

Order management: processing is lawful to fulfil a contract (please see article 6.1.b of the European data protection regulation).

Emails about similar items to clients’ previous orders: processing is lawful if it is in the company’s rightful interest (please see article 6.1.f of the European data protection regulation) i.e. promoting our products to our clients.

Emails about other items from Moviiu SA: processing is lawful with consent (please see article 6.1.a of the European data protection regulation).

Sending email addresses to business partners: processing is lawful with consent (please see article 6.1.a of the European data protection regulation).

INFORMATION CATEGORIES

Identity:
title, full name, address, delivery and pick-up address, phone number, email address, date of birth, internal processing code to identify the client, objection list information.

Order information:
transaction number, purchase details, invoice information (payments, non-payments, refunds), product returns.

Payment method information:
card number, expiry date, CDC (deleted immediately).

Information required to conduct loyalty and canvassing operations:
order history.

INFORMATION RECIPIENTS

Moviiu SA customer service and invoice department receive all categories of information.

Sub-contractors in charge of delivering the orders receive our clients’ name, address and phone number.

INFORMATION STORAGE LIMITATION

Information required for managing orders and invoices: for the duration of the business relationship and ten (10) years for statutory reasons.

Information required to conduct loyalty and canvassing operations: for the duration of the business relationship and three (3) years from the last purchase.

Information about payment methods: Moviiu SA does not save this information; it is collected during the transaction and deleted upon payment.

Information about objection lists for canvassing: three (3) years.

COOKIES

Cookies do not enable us to identify you; they save information about your browsing history on the website (the pages you have viewed, the date and time you viewed them etc.) that Moviiu SA can access about your previous visits or the number of views of our ad content on third party websites or apps or social media or opening and reading email communication that Moviiu SA may send with your consent.

Moviiu SA may collect information by installing a cookie or web banner on your computer from the website or counting clicks on anything Moviiu SA sends you. Moviiu SA saves the connection or identification choices and information whilst browsing an online service. Depending on your browser settings (that you can update at any time), cookies that Moviiu SA provides from its website help:

  • provide statistics and information about visits and usage of the website’s features (visited sections and content, journey) to make the services available to you more interesting and user-friendly;
  • provide you with services and a browsing experience tailored to you;
  • count the number of clicks on an online service feature.

Some services can only be used in conjunction with functional cookies i.e. quote saving provided online by Moviiu SA.

Moviiu SA may also buy advertising space to promote its products with ad content on third party websites, online platforms or apps which may contain or use one or more cookies. Subject to your browser settings that you can update at any time, this cookie may be saved on your device to:

– count the number of times our ad content is viewed and activated on third party websites or apps, identify this content and websites or apps or social media, assess the number of users who click on all content;

– send you ads whilst browsing the internet on third party websites or social media;

– draw up statistics.

Google Chrome Go to the Chrome menu icon and click “Show Advanced Settings”, click the “Content Settings” button in the “Privacy” section then you can select the right options for you in the “Cookies” section.
