Late September: Istanbul opens the autumn

Contemporary Istanbul opens the calendar autumn, starting on the very day of the equinox. The fair takes place from September 23 to 27, 2026 at Tersane Istanbul, a former shipyard on the Golden Horn, with more than 70 galleries from 24 countries.

The fair plays a bridging role that few others hold in Europe: it connects the scenes of Turkey, the Gulf, the Caucasus and Central Asia to the international market.

October: London, then Paris

Frieze London and Frieze Masters

The two fairs run simultaneously at The Regent’s Park from October 14 to 18, 2026, with an invitation-only preview on Wednesday the 14th. Together, they bring together nearly 300 galleries from 48 countries and territories.

This edition’s new features include The Code Universe section at Frieze London, led by Carol Yinghua Lu, and the Queering Modernism thematic focus at Frieze Masters, led by Anke Kempkes. The principle of the two fairs remains the same: contemporary practice on one side, art history on the other, the two placed in dialogue just a few hundred meters apart.

Art week in Paris

Three fairs overlap in the capital.

Paris Internationale opens the sequence with its 12th edition, from October 20 to 24, 2026, with a preview on the 19th. Founded in 2015 by a collective of galleries, it remains the fair of discovery, known for its nomadism: a new venue every year, in partnership with Swiss architects Christ & Gantenbein since 2022, who replace cubic booths with simple parallel walls.

Asia Now takes over the Monnaie de Paris from October 20 to 24, 2026 for its 12th edition. It is the only European fair dedicated exclusively to artists from Asia and its diaspora, both historical and emerging.

Art Basel Paris closes the week at the Grand Palais, from October 23 to 25, 2026, with an opening on the 22nd. This fifth edition, the first under the direction of Karim Crippa, brings together 211 exhibitors from 41 countries and territories, spread across the Galeries, Emergence and Premise sectors. The public program extends beyond the Grand Palais into nine iconic venues across the capital.

Late October and November: Turin, Cologne, Paris, Luxembourg

Artissima, Turin

The only Italian fair exclusively dedicated to contemporary art celebrates its 32nd edition from October 30 to November 1, 2026 at the Oval Lingotto Fiere, with an invitation-only preview on October 29. Under the direction of Luigi Fassi, the 2026 edition revolves around the theme Fancy: A Flexible, Acrobatic Body, borrowed from an image by philosopher Martha C. Nussbaum. Four main sections and three curated sections, including Disegni, the only section dedicated to drawing in an Italian fair.

ART COLOGNE

The major Rhineland fair takes place from November 5 to 8, 2026 in the halls of the Cologne exhibition center, where it brings together galleries and collectors from around the world.

Paris Photo

The 29th edition of the world’s leading international fair dedicated to photography takes place at the Grand Palais from November 12 to 15, 2026, with an invitation-only opening on November 11. The 2026 edition is a special one: it celebrates the bicentenary of photography. The Centre Pompidou is the guest institution and will present more than one hundred works from its collection, by nearly thirty historical and contemporary artists. The Prix Pictet will also be presented for the first time in the nave of the Grand Palais.

Luxembourg Art Week

From November 20 to 22, 2026, on the Champ du Glacis, with a VIP and professionals day on November 19. The 12th edition brings together 78 exhibitors from 15 countries. This year, the Focus program is dedicated to photography. The Art Walk extends the fair into the city, with a sculpture trail and interventions in public spaces.

December: Antwerp closes the season

Art Antwerp takes place from December 10 to 13, 2026 at Antwerp Expo. A tighter format, a carefully curated selection, a focus on contemporary art: it is the last major European event before the winter break, and the latest one of autumn 2026.
